Movement & Life Drawing: The Body is a Landscape

Through multi-disciplinary mediums we explore the synchronicities of the body and natural world. Designed to open up your perspective and strengthen your mind-body-nature connection.

We bring together expressive movement, writing and life drawing to help us build new perspectives of our body and how it moves through experiences, to foster a stronger somatic connection and reflect upon our journeys through the lens of nature. The first half of the session will be movement, followed by tea, writing and then life drawing, incorporating Shamanic and holistic healing practices and teachings along the way.

Landscapes are an amalgamation of different ecological parts, they come together to create intricate maps and connections that harmoniously move, adapt, evolve, progress. Our bodies mirror so many natural processes, yet we have compartmentalised it as if it exists independently or outside of nature.

In this workshop we seek to re-integrate the body into nature looking at its similarities and interconnectedness, as we explore the body through the lens of the natural world. The landscape is the bigger picture of what we observe when we step back out of the detail, and the intensity. When we step back, you connect to yourself, others, and nature. When we see the body is a landscape, what can we observe in ourselves? How do our bodies interact with its surroundings?

The way you explore your outer world is the way you can explore your inner world.
